Till Dawn is a very divided collection. Record 1 is remixed T.Rex tracks with newly recorded (1985-ish) drums while Record 2 is solo acoustic Marc Bolan from a radio broadcast. Record 1: Perhaps my opinion will change after additional listens, but my first reaction is one of disgust. Terrible production and re-recorded drums buries the vocals and needlessly destroys the vibe of the material. It sounds as bad as the cover looks... which is bad. Very very bad. Record 2: Very cool performances on acoustic guitars from Marc Bolan for a USA radio broadcast around the Electric Warrior era. Sonics are ok, not terrible, not great but really fun and inspired performances. Record 2 way more than makes up for the shortcomings of record 1. I believe this may be the only place to find these recordings unaltered (acoustic warrior adds overdubs etc) and on vinyl.*If you run across this album, pick it up for record two... it is really good. Record 1 is completely unnecessary and you can find the original unaltered (and superior) versions of those songs elsewhere. The acoustic record makes this one worth a purchase in my opinion.
